This Little Piggy Went To Prada

I recently ordered some books for the girls nursery and I absolutely love them! The girls love them too and it's great that they are board books. This little piggy went to Prada has a hard cover but it's not a board book. I'm just careful not to let them be rough with it since they have a tendency to want to rip pages out of books.

I have to admit the foodie babies wear bibs book was more for me. Haha! It seemed fitting with my line of work.

Have a great weekend!

The wardobe, the date and the winner.

It seems like every time I go out on a mission to buy something for myself, I always always end up buying something for the girls and I come home empty handed. Well not today! Err....well not last week anyways. I really needed a new black pair of skinny jeans since they are a must in my closet and I ended up finding a cute top and a pair of nude heels along the way. I've been on the hunt for crochet tops and I found this gorgeous one for cheap at Agaci but I can't seem to find it online to link it. I'm super picky when it comes to jeans and I'm glad to have finally found my go-to place for them at PacSun. They fit great and are inexpensive so that's definitely a plus.

Now for some other randomness, I had a fantastic weekend. H and I dropped the girls off at my mom's house on Saturday and got to enjoy a lovely evening with him at the National Arab American Ben Qurrah Awards Gala. It was nice but I didn't take too many pictures, just this one around midnight and after a couple glasses of wine hence the tired look.

Last but not least, the winner of the gold sequin hanger is Sara from the The not quite military wife! I will send you an email for your address. Thanks for participating!

Recent toddler finds

I've been on the lookout for great pieces and books for the nursery and slowly the things I've bought are trickling in. One of the first items that arrived last week was the Pride & Prejudice baby book. It's a counting book that somewhat tells the story in 10 pages. It really is an adorable book for the little ones and it helps them learn 1-10. I also ordered a few other books for the girls that have yet to arrive. Something else I found for Layla in particular was this cute hot pink sweater from Crazy8. Unfortunately I can't find it online anymore but they had tons in store heavily discounted.

Have a great Tuesday and don't forget to enter the gold sequin hanger giveaway!

On courage

I saw this quote on a friend's instagram feed last week and it just spoke to me so I had to put it on the Facebook page for my shop. It's just so true and when I read it I said to myself "Yes! This is how I feel often." Sometimes as people we lack the courage to step outside our comfort zone that envelopes us like a warm cocoon, and sometimes being a parent comes with a big dose of guilt. There's guilt if you didn't spend enough time with your kids, or guilt if you work a 40 hour job away from home, or guilt if you got extra frustrated at your kids. The list can go on really. Every night when I think about something that went wrong a particular day, I do say to myself that tomorrow I will try again and I pray for more patience and to be a better mother.

I want to invite you guys to like my Facebook page for the shop over on the sidebar if you haven't already and join me there every Friday for some momfessions.

Have a great Monday!

The early bird catches the wrinkle?

I found that when I turned 30 I really started to scrutinize myself even more looking for signs of aging. I found myself comparing myself to pictures from when I was in my early 20's to make sure I still looked the same. I know I don't have much to worry about because I look young for my age and my mother has always looked young as have mostly all the women on her side of the family, but still--I would like to keep my youthful appearance.

A few months ago I realized that my under eye bags were looking puffy. Well they'll get puffy if I'm lacking on sleep, but it just seemed more than usual, and mainly just my left one. After some research I found the cause to be most likely sleeping on that side (which I'm not 100% sure on since I thought I mainly slept on the right side of my face) and allergies. My allergies have certainly flared up this winter season. I decided to invest in ROC retinol correxion eye cream, and by invest I mean I totally used a gift card from Target because $22.00 for eye cream still seemed like a lot. I often see this eye cream listed as one of the top 10 best eye creams but I wasn't sure if it was for me because I don't have wrinkles around my eyes, no crows feet when I smile, nothing. Maybe I don't smile that big? Anyways, I bought it for the puffiness and I think prevention is a good thing. I was excited to first use it and expecting results right away...don't we all? Ha!

I really like the creaminess of it. It's not too thin and not too thick, and I have experienced no itching or stinging. I think it took about a week and a half to two weeks before I started feeling like it was making a difference in the puffiness. However my next purchase may be an eye cream that just targets this. Either way, I'm fine with it using it as a preventive measure till I run out and will definitely give it another shot once I'm older.

Another recent face product I bought was L'Oreal's Hydra Fresh Toner and to be honest I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be looking for. I don't have acne, or uneven skin tone. Except for some redness I get on my T-zone, I don't have too many complaints. Oh I do have an issue with really dry skin after washing it but it hasn't helped in that regards, so again not sure what it's doing for me yet. I suppose another product I'm using just as a preventive measure and hey, the bottle is cute.

Valentine's Day Picks {Kid Edition}

I did a Valentine's day pick last week for women so of course I've got to do one for the kids. I'm also going to shamelessly plug in some items from my shop too. You don't mind right? ..Wink..

Have a great Wednesday!

Motherhood the epitome of guilt

Serena is at school right now and the little ones are napping so I'm doing some work on the computer and popping in here to speak my mind to you fine people...or shall I say unload my guilty feelings. For the past week I've been staying up to around midnight and last night I stayed up till 2:15 in the morning. Surprisingly my face didn't feel like it was hit by a truck this morning but maybe my body got used to running on little sleep this week. If you read a post from last week I mentioned that I no longer had a seamstress because our schedules were just not working out. Que large wholesale order due tomorrow on top of other orders coming in. I was lucky to have my mom come for 3 evenings so thank God I had some help. I could not have done it all alone! When one thinks baby bibs, they might think "Oh sure those are easy to make", but if you've seen mine, you can see the kind of details that goes into them, and those details take time. I've had a few copiers out there and by the pictures they just don't hold a candle to mine. I'm very particular about them and always strive for quality.

Onto the guilty feeling I was talking about. Balance is hard. I have 3 girls. Running this house, meal planning, cleaning, etc. That's a full time job! I never cut into their time during the day minus a few emails, a few photoshoots and some social media during food breaks and naps, but this weekend I feel like I hardly dealt with the kids at all. My husband spent most of the day with them to let me work, and I guess I just feel bad that I didn't get to interact with them much and I also broke my rule during the week earlier of not cutting into their time. Two afternoons I spent about an hour working on stuff while the girls all played in the living room. I know a lot of work at home moms work a little with their kids around, but I just never liked doing that. I'm not one to let the TV babysit my kids, and I really limit their time as it is. My mom said I shouldn't feel guilty, but I can't help it. Sometimes I wish I never started this and my only thoughts be my family but my iron will won't let me stop, and of course it wouldn't be smart to stop because it's going so well--and I've come so far. I just need to find some quality help...and maybe take a small break for the next two evenings.

Have a great Monday!
